Action Needed!

Dear Asheville Transit riders,

The City of Asheville Transit system relies on federal funding, just like our roads and other transit systems around the country. Currently, the Asheville Transit system receives about 2.5 million each year in federal funding to keep our buses on the road. The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote next week to divert funding for public transportation from motor fuels tax revenue. The bill being put forward would jeopardize funding for the City of Asheville ’s and public transportation across the country in the long-term.

Those who use or are supportive of public transportation please contact your Members of Congress immediately to let them know this proposal will severely cripple operations in their district.
