2nd ANNUAL CELEBRATION: Asheville Is the 88th Transition Town in the US!

The Transition Movement is all about bringing the head, heart and hands together for our community to re-localize--buying local food, products and services--and to thrive in the face of rising fuel costs, economic instability and climate change.  The Transition Initiative, which began in the UK in 2005, has since grown to 428 Transition Initiatives around the world, and many more are being added each year.  In 2011, Asheville became the 88th official Transition Town in the US, so we invite you to join us to CELEBRATE!

This is a celebration and music venue with food trucks providing delicious local food.  Informative hands-on activities, interactive educational displays, and games and demonstrations for children and adults will all be featured.  Local groups will be performing jazz, bluegrass, old-time music, and more.  Bathroom facilities are available onsite. 

With the growing emphasis on the environment and quality of life issues, there’s real value for heightened visibility and recognition by the public in supporting local efforts. These efforts will build a sustainable and resilient future for Asheville and our Western North Carolina region.  With this in mind, there are numerous benefits for becoming a sponsor of this event, and other levels of supporting donations are welcome.

Heightened public visibility….   Event sponsors will be highlighted in press releases going to regional print and broadcast media, featured in the Transition Asheville newsletter w/600+ readership, and prominently displayed within each sponsor category on event banners, posters and flyers.  Sponsors will also be recognized throughout the day and between music sets.  If desired, sponsors may have a display or info booth.
