SCHEDULE/EVENT CHANGE: IN TRANSITION 2.0 FILM SHOWING AT UUC
Both the date and the film have changed for the TAFN presentation at the Social Justice Film Night at the UU Church. Instead of the usual 2nd Friday, the date has been changed to the 1st Friday night, August 3. And instead of trying to present a few short films/slide shows on food projects in the Asheville area, we will be showing the newly released In Transition 2.0.
From transitionus.org: "In Transition 2.0 is an inspirational immersion into the Transition movement, gathering stories from around the world of ordinary people doing extraordinary things. You’ll hear about communities printing their own money, growing food everywhere, localizing their economies and setting up community power stations. It’s an idea that has gone viral, a social experiment that is about responding to uncertain times with solutions and optimism. In a world that is awash with gloom, here is a story of hope, ingenuity and the power of growing vegetables in unexpected places. "
We also wanted more time to put together the short films on local food projects, so look for it in the spring. If you have short films or a slide show on something going on with food in WNC, contact Sherry at si726@aol.com.
